Woodcut Pet Portraits!

I had a fun show on Sunday and the BEST part was the request of several customers that I offer commissioned woodcut prints of their pets! "If I give you a picture of my dog, can you do a woodcut print of him for me?"

Why not? It just never occurred to me. But what a cool, unique pet portrait that will be! And so much fun. I just updated my website with a page dedicate just to woodcut commissioned portraits. Here's the kind of thing I have in mind for a simple "headshot" portrait. Let me know if you're interested! robinzebley@gmail.com

I think it is, too! I had several requests and of course was totally "huh?"" But why not? I love doing commissions and I love woodcuts!

Thanks for commenting!

that is a really good idea! would you give them the block too or just the print?

I'm going to hold the block and if they want more, they can order them. Don't know if that will work or not, but I love the idea, personally!

Great idea Robin! Does it take very long?

Sam...the carving part...who knows? I never keep track of my time! I think that's why I like to work in media that you can pick up and put down without a lot of clean up.

Now the printing part I need a chunk of time to rip the paper, set it up and print.

I'm really excited because there's been a lot of inquiries!
